I first commenced my role at Makwana & Patel Dentiques Ltd as a Receptionist in January 2005. I have always worked in Customer focus and Administration roles which I really enjoy!

I was promoted to Practice Manager in 2007 and the role is ever changing with great development for me and the team. I have an active role in the financial part of the business. I have completed PTLLS qualification (Preparing to teach in long-life learning sector) and various other communication and customer service courses fulfilled.

Away from the Practice, I have been married to Dave for 30 years and have two children, Jack 24 and Alice 19. I enjoy walking, reading and visiting Portugal every year where I spent time with my parents. Also travelling is of great interest.

I love the challenge that this company offers and the various initiatives which are in place and always work to high professional standards. The team is great and we are all growing and developing at every opportunity which is offered. The future is bright.

Vicy Barrass

BDS Birm 1988
GDC No. 63799

I am a Lincolnshire yellow belly through and through having been born and lived in Lincolnshire for the majority of my life.

I qualified from Birmingham University with a degree in dentistry in 1988 having wanted to become a dentist from the age of thirteen.

I worked in two practices, one in Lincoln and one in Grimsby before starting my own practice in 1999 in Lincoln. I ran and worked in this practice, CVDP for thirteen years before selling it to the present owners in 2012. I have continued to work in the same practice since then.

I really enjoy my work and take considerable satisfaction in providing high quality family dental care. I take much pleasure in treating several generations of the same family and having practiced locally for many years I now treat the children of patients I first saw as young children themselves. Having practiced in the same place for some considerable time I have established great familiarity with my patients and my patients with me and this is advantageous to all.

In addition to working in general dental practice I have also worked as a clinical assistant at Lincoln hospital in the orthodontic department for 12 years and really enjoy providing orthodontic treatment (straightening teeth) for patients at the practice as well as providing cosmetic treatment including white fillings, crowns, bridges and tooth whitening.

On a personal note I am married and have four children-all boys! which occupy much of my time outside of dentistry so never a dull moment at work or home. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Dental Hygienist - Cathedral View Dental Practice
GDC No. 3990

I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1990 at Bristol University Dental Hospital; I have worked for several years in dental practices in Bristol and Bath, and was also appointed as a tutor, training Hygienists at the Bristol Dental Hospital. I then relocated to London to take up a full time post at a prestigious Harley Street practice, working alongside a Periodontal Consultant.

I left London for the bright lights of Lincoln - and to be closer to my family – I have a caring and sensitive manner that puts even the most nervous of patients at ease, but always strives to achieve the best possible dental outcome for each patient.

Since graduating in dentistry from 'Barts and the London' University in 2013, I have moved from London to Lincoln and in 2015 achieved my RCSEd. As a healthcare professional I aim to prevent, diagnose and treat oral diseases and problems that affect the mouth and teeth. In addition to helping promote oral health, as part of a team I really enjoy caring for a wide range of patients, providing a patient-centred, friendly and relaxing therapy.

Since moving to Lincoln I have started horse-riding weekly embracing the new and exciting opportunity to develop and enjoy different experiences. I thoroughly enjoy swimming and go regularly to the pool and have in recent years competed and won numerous medals and certificates. I take pleasure in my work and have a keen interest in cosmetic treatments including: white fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges and teeth whitening. I have also completed the first stage of Toxins (Botox) and Dermal Fillers training. I like to use my life gained knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding of scientific and clinical principles toward the prevention, alleviation and management of oral diseases, to help improve the oral healthcare of the future!
